Made by TOMO MAGS with The Trust Project®
Read the news with confidence. Talk about it with anyone.
The News Reading Club is for people who want to enjoy the news again and have something worth saying about it. Join in a room, or start on your journey. One topic, one good conversation, every month.

Launch week
The club launches at the end of August with three launch events: A salon for the journalism industry, two Trust Project Workshop for civic and community leaders and the first two official News Reading Club meetings in Austin and San Antonio. Tickets and more information on how to attend coming soon.
This is not a one-time event. The club meets every month, with new new topics posted here first. Curious what a gathering actually looks like? Read on.
News Reading Club Meetups
Choose a gathering that meets you where you are, then bring your questions, curiosity, and an appetite for better news.
A club, not a feed
What happens in the room and after
You do not have to arrive an expert. If you have ever felt unsure talking about the news, you are not alone. This is a way back in.
Another way to join:
1
The workbook
Built by TOMO mags with the Trust Project, part guide and part journal, it holds everything you need to read with a clear eye and talk about it with anyone.
2
On your own terms
Bring it to a gathering, or build your own ritual and explore your own journey at home, at your own pace. The club is the room, the workbook is the practice, and you can start with either one.
3
Bring someone with you
Keep one for your own practice, and pass one to a person you want reading alongside you.
THE CONFIDENCE TO READ THE NEWS.
THE WORDS TO TALK ABOUT IT.

The news is worth loving again
Why it matters
Somewhere along the way, the news got harder to trust and harder to talk about. SOCIAL MEDIA rewardS noise over understanding. It's easy to feel lost.
This club is how we find our way back. We celebrate the people doing real journalism, support trustworthy outlets, and choose, together, what deserves our attention. It is a small practice with real power.
Every story you choose with care is a vote for the of news worth keeping.

Support the room where trust gets rebuilt
The News Reading Club is a growing, in-person media fluency practice, built by TOMO mags with The Trust Project and led by people who know the news. It puts readers and the people who report the news in the same room, on purpose, every month.
Sponsors make that possible, and get their name on the work of rebuilding trust in journalism.
Sponsor a topic.
Back a single gathering and the conversation it makes possible.
Sponsor a city.
Anchor the club in Austin, San Antonio, or the next market we open.
Sponsor a season.
Partner across a run of gatherings and grow with the club.
